The #1 Rule for a Dog-Friendly Wedding Is to Stay Flexible and Have Fun! A go-with-the-flow attitude will go a long way when including animals in the mix. Like children, your pup's behavior may be unpredictable, and being able to laugh about it will help you stay relaxed, having fun and looking great in your photos!

A San Diego beach wedding with your dogs can be fun, rewarding and unique experience for both pets and their owners! We are San Diego's Puppy Love Experts and are happy to share some helpful tips to help keep your dog-friendly beach wedding stress-free and fun for everyone!
  1. Relax, laugh alot and have fun!
  2. Don't forget the doggie treats.
  3. Assign a human escort for your dog who will be responsible for your pet's care before, during and after the ceremony.
  4. A wedding can be a long, stimulating event and can elicit uncharacteristic behavior. Take your dog for a walk and bathroom break before the ceremony to help her stay relaxed during the ceremony. Remind your doggie's caregiver to watch for signs of anxiety -- barking, pacing, drooling, and whining -- which may indicate your pup has had enough, and may need a break from the excitement.
  5. Keep your pet's wardrobe simple. A sparkly bow tie collar, hair clip or bandana can add a festive touch without the risk of itching or chewing.
  6. Be sensitive to your guests. Just because you love your dog doesn’t mean your guests will. Some individuals, including vendors, may be allergic to or scared of your pet. You want all your guests to leave with fond memories of your big day so be sure to inform everyone ahead of time that the wedding will be pet-friendly.
Deciding to have a dog-friendly San Diego beach wedding can be a fun, memorable event or a "paws-itively" poor choice depending on guests, wedding location  and your pet’s personality. Your wedding is a celebration of your love and the start of your new life together. With a little forethought and planning your dog can be part of the fun. Woof!
